Sunday’s Forecast:
I’m calling this forecast, mostly dry. While an isolated shower is possible between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00, most of southeast Texas will be dry today. Temperatures climb to the mid-90s with a heat index of 100°. Monday’s forecast looks similar to today.
Storms return mid-week:
Our weather pattern shifts Tuesday to what we’ve experienced most of this summer. Afternoon thunderstorms are back in the forecast. Wednesday may be the most active day.
Tracking the tropics:
Tropical Storm Fernand formed Saturday evening, this is the 6th named storm of the 2025 hurricane season.
It will maintain tropical storm status as it moves north across the Atlantic. Bermuda and coastal Canada can expect high swells and this will affect shipping interest.
Another tropical wave is approaching the Windward Islands. As it moves westward, it has a 40% chance of developing this week.
It’s heading into the Caribbean, but will have a difficult time strengthening because of strong wind shear in its path. Most of the weather models we look at have it dying in the central Caribbean. However, if it can keep a circulation, it may try and move into the Gulf. We’ll keep you posted.
Make sure your family is prepared for whatever comes our way this hurricane season. You can check out our 2025 Hurricane and Flood Survival Guide here.
Your extended forecast:
Higher rain chances return mid-week as moisture from the Gulf increases. For the most part temperatures are in the lower to mid-90s with the exception of Monday. Have a great week!
