This Afternoon’s Forecast:
We will see hot and humid conditions with highs in the mid-to-upper 90s. Isolated showers and storms are possible, especially south of I-10.
There is a 30% chance of storms in the afternoon, but no widespread storms are expected.
Tracking the tropics, tracking the Gulf:
The Atlantic is heating up! There are now three areas of interest in the Atlantic basin. None are bringing impacts to the Gulf Coast.
Tropical Storm Dexter is the 4th named storm to form in the Atlantic. It will continue to move east away from the United States.
There is another disturbance off the coast of the Carolinas. It has a medium chance of developing in the next seven days, but it will create rough surf.
A tropical wave will move off the coast of Africa this week and has a 50% chance to develop into a storm over the next 7 days.
