Flood threat returns to Houston this weekend

Changes are coming as storms will move in for a third straight weekend

A summer cool front (don’t get too excited, it’s still summer and this front won’t cool us down at all) is forecast to make its way into southeast Texas, bringing with it showers and thunderstorms over the next several days. This front isn’t the kind that sweeps in with cool, refreshing air—rather, it’s expected to stall across our area. That means more rounds of rain are likely, with some occasional storms firing up at times. Check out our current radar below.

Today’s Forecast:

A mostly cloudy afternoon as showers and thunderstorm chances loom across SE Texas. Chances are hit-or-miss, so don’t worry about a wash out. However, if we see a good downpour get see some localized street flooding.

The highest likelihood of seeing storms is between 1-6PM.

Weekend Forecast:

Heading into Saturday, the stalling front moves south closer to the coast. Because of its proximity and tapping into all that Gulf moisture.
