Temperatures are forecast to dip out of the 100s, with relief on the way thanks to an expected uptick in rain and thunderstorm activity.
Thursday Night Forecast:
A summer cool front (don’t get too excited, it’s still summer and this front won’t cool us down at all) is forecast to make its way into southeast Texas, bringing with it showers and thunderstorms over the next several days. This front isn’t the kind that sweeps in with cool, refreshing air—rather, it’s expected to stall across our area. That means more rounds of rain are likely, with some occasional storms firing up at times. Check out our current radar below.
Friday’s Forecast:
Friday will start off warm and muggy with temperatures in the lower-80s and mostly clear skies. As we head into the afternoon we will track hit-or-miss thunderstorms. This is not a washout, but some of the storms could bring heavy rainfall that could lead to localized street flooding.
The highest likelihood of seeing storms is between 1-6PM.
Weekend Forecast:
Heading into Friday and Saturday, the front stalls out near the coastline. Because of its proximity and tapping into all that Gulf moisture.
Some of these storms could carry a chance for some heavier downpours by the weekend. Not a washout by any means but a good chance that you’ll get chased inside at times on both Saturday and Sunday.
Tracking the tropics, tracking the Gulf:
There is no tropical development over the next 7 days.
However, we’re just now getting into the statistical uptick of the tropical season. In fact, we’re starting to see some indication that we’ll have more activity as we get into the month of August.
Make sure your family is prepared for whatever comes our way this hurricane season. You can check out our 2025 Hurricane and Flood Survival Guide here.
Your extended forecast:
We make the transition to a stormy pattern again this weekend as a stalled front sits across the I-10 corridor. Expect to see pockets of heavy downpours on and off both Saturday and Sunday.
