HOUSTON, Texas – Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen an eerily similar weather pattern here in Houston.
Often, starting at the beginning of the week, it’s hot and dry due to a high in the mid-levels of the atmosphere.
The high would act as a lid, suppressing rain chances and increasing temperatures. But later in the week, like Déjà vu, rain chances from tropical moisture would come back.
Short term
The story for Monday to Wednesday will be the heat.
Temperatures in Houston will be in the mid to upper 90s.
However, as always, factoring in the dew point, indices are expected to reach triple digits.
If you’re planning on going outside, here are some ways to stay cool:
- Drink plenty of water
- Keep strenuous activity low
- Get plenty of shade
- Perform outside activity during morning and evening hours
Later this week
Similar to last week, we will be watching a tropical disturbance that will bring moisture to our area.
Rain chances will go up, and temperatures will go down.
We will continue to monitor the chance for development as the system approaches.
Will this pattern continue? As always, we will continue to keep you updated.
