Houston braces for blazing temperatures as summer pattern returns

It’s going to be a scorcher, with “feels-like” temps in the triple digits

Get ready for a scorching start to the work week, Houston.

The city is heading back into the grip of summer, with temperatures trending upward through midweek. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 90s on Tuesday, and by Wednesday, the temps could top the 100-degree mark in parts of southeast Texas.

This Afternoon’s Forecast:

Thunderstorms and showers will be very isolated this afternoon with your highest chances between 3-6PM.

The typical summer heat and humidity make for a hot afternoon and evening across SE Texas.

Tuesday’s Forecast:

Tuesday and Wednesday are the hottest days of the week with temperatures in the upper 90s to low 100s. We might not get to record highs this week but it will be just as hot as last week in the upper 90s.

The push of heat comes with high pressure moving over Texas.

High pressure begins to move west into Texas, turning up temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday

Rain Returns:

Once high pressure moves out of Texas, moisture returns, increasing rain chances late week into the weekend. Rain will start to increase on Thursday and will peak Saturday and Sunday with a 40% chance each day.
