This storm is expected to be very short-lived. It is currently moving to the northeast at around 10-20 mph into much cooler waters. There are also stronger upper-level winds in its path. This very hostile environment will quickly dissipate the storm. Regardless, the storm is expected to stay in the open central Atlantic Ocean.

Remember, the Atlantic hurricane season lasts through November. Here in SE Texas, we see the tropical season peak in September, but we can see a storm anytime from now through the fall. Last year, Hurricane Beryl made landfall early in the morning on July 8th.

The peak of Hurricane Season is September 10th. (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston - All rights reserved.)
