Did you enjoy Saturday’s weather? Well, brace for a repeat Sunday, but with a heightened chance of isolated thunderstorms this afternoon into evening!
Today’s forecast:
Sunshine lovers, soak up today’s rays, as wetter weather looms ahead.
Right now, we’re tracking partly cloudy skies with a mix of sun and scattered clouds. We’re tracking a 20% for isolated thunderstorms for some not all afternoon into the evening. Nothing too dramatic, but enough that you might need to use your windshield wipers today.
More rain is headed our way:
The reason rain chances increase is due to high pressure moving east away from Texas. Without the high pressure, there will be no sinking air to dry out the atmosphere. Instead, a return of moisture from the Gulf moves in.
The dry air will be focused across the eastern half of the country, leading to record-breaking temperatures in the northeast.
Tracking the tropics:
We’re now watching a trough of low pressure 500 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. Right now, disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This system is expected to move NE over the central Atlantic during the next couple of days. 10% formation for both 48 hours and 7 days.
Your 10-Day Forecast:
We’re tracking a slight cool-down—upper 80s to low 90s with warm morning lows—and isolated to scattered showers through Friday, peaking Tuesday and Wednesday.
