Rain chances will remain on the lighter side for the next few days

Wednesday’s forecast:

HOUSTON – It’s a quiet start across Houston, but storms continue to fire off to the north in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. While no severe weather is expected locally today, we’ll see our typical June pattern of scattered showers developing with the sea breeze and afternoon heating with “Feels-Like” temperatures in the triple digits.

  1. Make sure to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and avoid peak heat times
  2. Cool Off: Mall walking, libraries, water parks and cooling centers are the best place to cool down as “Feels-like” temperatures continue to stay in the triple digits.
  3. Know the signs of heat illness: Heat exhaustion - heavy sweating, weakness, nausea, headache. Heat Stroke - high body temperature. confusion, no sweating and rapid pulse.

Tracking the Rain:

A few sprinkles are possible south of I-10 earlier in the day, with better chances for isolated showers and storms during the afternoon and evening. Thursday brings a higher coverage of scattered rain and storms, mainly moving north from the coast.

Rain chances over the next three days sit around 30-40%, but the bigger concern is the heat. Feels-like temperatures will climb into the triple digits, so make sure to stay cool and hydrated.

We’ll keep an eye on when a pattern shift could bring more consistent rain to southeast Texas.
