This Afternoon’s Forecast:
HOUSTON – We are already starting to track thunderstorms pushing into SE Texas. These storms could be as intense as those that hit the area yesterday morning, with the potential to make for a “messy commute” for drivers and anyone out and about later in the day.
There’s also a notable risk for hail, especially in spots where storm clusters show up on radar with darker core signatures.

Northwest Harris County, as well as Channelview and Baytown, saw some of these intense storms yesterday—and those same neighborhoods could be in the bullseye again today. This hail threat is something to watch through the afternoon hours, especially if you see storms approaching.
The forecast suggests it could take “a good chunk of time” after the evening hours for storms to finally wind down and for conditions to improve across the area.
Street flooding is also possible Tuesday. We saw a handful of cars submerged because of street flooding. Remember to turn around when you see high water because you don’t want to lose your car.
Stormy weather pattern:
Expect daily storms as a front stalls over SE Texas through Wednesday. Thursday and Friday an upper level low will help create more thunderstorms. Through the next 7 days, some areas may pick up 5 inches of rain.
