If you are not seeing the showers you are dealing with summery temperatures! Highs today are in the lower-90s.
Tracking The Tropics
- Tropical Atlantic: No tropical cyclone activity expected in the next 7 days, as there are plenty of plumes of Saharan dust
- SE US Coastline: The NHC has slapped a 10% chance of tropical development off the coast of central Florida. Not a good chance for an “Andrea” but could bring some heavy rain to the beaches later this week
- Eastern Pacific: A 40% chance of cyclone formation in 7 days near southern Mexico and south of Central America. We’re monitoring a system of disorganized showers and thunderstorms that could develop into a tropical cyclone. If it forms, it’s expected to move at 10 mph offshore for now.
This week we are monitoring Saharan dust. When the dust reaches SE Texas, this will bring colorful sunsets but also may cause poor air quality. Saharan dust is also helps suppress tropical development.
10 Day Forecast
The next 10 days the pattern stay pretty typical to early June. The best rain chances will likely be Wednesday with a cool front that stalls just north of Houston.
