How wildfire smoke is impacting temperatures and air quality

Mexico’s wildfires and agricultural fires producing smoke is leading to haze glazing over Houston’s sky, which is good and bad news for SE Texas.

The good news is that the smoke reflects solar radiation, keeping us cooler by a few degrees. Don’t get me wrong, it will still be hot with high temperatures reaching mid-90s Friday afternoon.

The bad news is that the smoke is slightly impacting air quality. So if you are typically sensitive to air pollution, limit your time outdoors.
