Arctic Chill arrives Wednesday:

After Tuesday night’s storms, an arctic blast of cold air moves into SE Texas. Temperatures are above freezing in Houston but west and north of Houston temperatures fall to freezing. Plus, we’ll have a strong north wind 10-20 mph with gusts around 30 mph. This will bring a bitter wind chill ranging from 12°-25°.

A cold weather advisory is issued for Walker, Washington, Trinity, Brazos, and other counties west of Houston. The advisory is in effect Wednesday from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. as the cold front brings “feels like” temperatures of 12-20 degrees.

Friday morning is also below freezing but not cold warnings are expected. Mardi Gras starts in Galveston Friday night and it will be cold! Our next round of storms is expected Saturday afternoon. Next week temperatures warm back to the 70s and it will feel like spring again. Stay safe from the cold the next few days.
