Wednesday’s Forecast
Wednesday we will be hot with chance for showers. Highs will be in the mid-90s with a 30% chance for showers and storms after 1PM.
Can Beryl make it to Texas?
The answer is yes. But there is one major element we’re watching. The area of high pressure in northern Florida will greatly determine the path in the Gulf of Mexico. With the highs current strength, it shouldn’t have a problem pulling Beryl close to it and steering it north. If the high weakens just a touch Beryl will miss the turn and travel in the more westerly direction. No matter what path Beryl takes rip current risk will be high starting Saturday!
Landfall matters for impacts to Houston:
We’ll have a better idea of the extract track of Beryl late Wednesday. For now, I’m going with a direct hit on far south Texas or the northeastern part of Mexico. If this track verifies the heaviest rain will west of Houston. There is also the possibility Beryl will regain hurricane strength as it nears land.
Independence Day Forecast:
The 4th is firecracker hot! A heat advisory is possible with temperatures in the mid-90s. Thankfully we do not have any burn bans in place for SE Texas for the first time in two years on the 4th of July! Make sure you check with your county before you shoot off any fireworks.

10-Day Forecast:
The closer Beryl is to SE Texas the more rain we’ll get. The farther south Beryl tracks, our impacts will be low. For now I’m going with a 60% chance of tropical rain Sunday and Monday with storms chances Saturday and Tuesday too.
