In 2008, they bought a building from the city of Houston and on Saturday, which is appropriately Veterans Day, they will finally realize their dream. Yes, it’s existed in this space for some time but now all floors of the building are fully renovated. All of this began as a retirement project for U.S. army veteran of the Vietnam War, Capt. I thank the Lord every day, every morning that I rise it give me the opportunity to put together an exhibit that demonstrates the heritage of the African American soldier,” said Matthews, founder of Buffalo Soldier Museum.
