A search for a missing 2-year-old took a tragic turn Tuesday night after investigators in west Harris County found the toddler had drowned in a retention pond.

Authorities say a mother flagged down police after she found her stolen car with her little girl still inside.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said a 3-year-old has died after being found unresponsive in a pool at a south Harris County apartment complex Saturday.
