A criminal case involving Liberty County Pct. 3 Commissioner David Shirell Whitmire, who is accused of using his public office to solicit sex and exploit a woman desperate for help with a child custody case, is now in the hands of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, according to court documents.

Liberty County Commissioner David Whitmire has been indicted on charges of sexual assault, harassment, and solicitation of prostitution, according to newly released court documents.

Michael Banks is charged with solicitation of prostitution. He was arrested last Friday and has since been released on a $20,000 bond.
