Navy veteran Chris Luna thought he was managing his PTSD—until the isolation of the pandemic made him realize he needed help. Everything changed when he met Astro, a service dog from K9s For Warriors, the nation’s largest provider of trained rescue dogs for veterans. Their powerful bond has brought Chris peace, purpose, and healing. Now, with the introduction of the SAVES Act, there’s hope that more veterans like Chris can access the life-changing support of a service dog.
