Prosecutors in Texas will seek the death penalty for two Venezuelan men who are accused of killing a 12-year-old Houston girl after they entered the U.S. illegally.

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg has announced the decision to seek the death penalty for Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel and Franklin Pena, both Venezuelan nationals, charged with the abduction, assault, and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in June.

Surveillance footage revealed their movements on the day of the crime, leading investigators to crucial evidence. Both men, illegal immigrants from Venezuela, were apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol earlier this year.
