FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – High winds made it tough for firefighters to battle a mulch fire in Fort Bend County. The Richmond Fire Department was called out to the scene on Highway 90 and Pitts Road around 6 p.m. Monday. Firefighters found a large mound of mulch that appeared to have self-combusted from the inside. The strong winds carried embers to other nearby mounds. The winds in the area have since subsided.
