Houston police say the speeding driver crashed into another car, and then the driver and their passenger got out of the vehicle to try and make a run for it.

HOUSTON – The body of a Houston woman was found in the trunk of a car involved in a high-speed chase that ended in downtown Beaumont Saturday morning, according to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Around 8 a.m., the department received a call regarding a reckless driver, who was driving a white car on Interstate 10 in Beaumont. DPS investigators searched the Honda, which is standard procedure after a car crash. Troopers found the body of a woman in the trunk, according to the release. Sunday morning, Houston police were searching a Houston home located in the 4100 block of Maggie St. Police said evidence found inside the car in Beaumont led them to the residence.

HOUSTON Two juveniles who led Houston police on a high-speed chase have been arrested. According to officers, speeds hit nearly 120 miles per hour during the chase. Police said the suspects eventually started to slow down and the two juveniles ran out of gas on the Gulf Freeway and Monroe. All of the lanes of the freeway were shut down temporarily, but officers quickly moved the scene over to a nearby gas station. Police said both juveniles will be charged with felony evading arrest, but more charges could be added.
