Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on X, formerly known as Twitter, the 15-year-old has been charged in the shooting death of 17-year-old Jake Mason. The 15-year-old’s name has not been released. He is in custody at the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center.

A man was shot and killed in west Harris County Tuesday, prompting multiple Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District campuses to go into “Secure the Building” mode, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
