The family was reportedly using a charcoal grill to heat their apartment unit at the 8500 block of Easton Commons Drive. Officials said six people, including four children that ages range from 5 to 10 years old, were transported to the hospital. The family was reportedly burning the fire for warmth for about four hours, according to Cy-Fair Fire. HOUSTON – A 3-year-old boy was among a family of four that was hospitalized Tuesday after a portable generator was stored improperly, according to the Cy-Fair Fire Department. Officials said firefighters found the family at the home, suffering from possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Officials said one person is in critical condition and the other three are serious but in stable condition, including the child. Firefighters found the portable generator in-use without proper ventilation in the garage of the home. They believe this is what caused the family to become ill.“Never run a generator indoors or partly enclosed areas,” Cy-Fair Fire Department tweeted.

A 12-year-old was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday following a wreck on US 290, according to the Cy-Fair Fire Department. The wreck happened at around 9:40 a.m. on US 290 near Mason Rd. CYPRESS, Texas – The man accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend in Cypress has been taken into custody without incident on Wednesday, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Ed Gonzales announced. The charges against Mann Austin Hayes have been upgraded to murder, according to Gonzales. Authorities said the victim, 20-year-old Julie Dela Garza, died on Monday. HOUSTON A 3-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital after being struck by a Jeep in Katy Wednesday evening, according to the Harris County Sheriffs Office. At about 6:48 p.m., the Harris County Sheriffs Office received reports that a child was struck by a vehicle at The Commons At Hollyhock Apartments located at 5751 Greenhouse Road in Katy. The Cy-Fair Fire Department also responded to the scene. The child suffered a serious head injury and lacerations all over his body and was transported to a hospital by LifeFlight, officials said. The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and is cooperating with HCSO traffic investigators.
