HOUSTON – A family is recovering from carbon monoxide poisoning Monday afternoon, according to Cy-Fair Fire Department. The family was reportedly using a charcoal grill to heat their apartment unit at the 8500 block of Easton Commons Drive. Officials said six people, including four children that ages range from 5 to 10 years old, were transported to the hospital. The family was reportedly burning the fire for warmth for about four hours, according to Cy-Fair Fire. These produce carbon monoxide, which is a deadly, colorless and odorless gas,” the department wrote on Twitter.

Officials said one person is in critical condition and the other three are serious but in stable condition, including the child. Firefighters found the portable generator in-use without proper ventilation in the garage of the home. HOUSTON A 3-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital after being struck by a Jeep in Katy Wednesday evening, according to the Harris County Sheriffs Office. At about 6:48 p.m., the Harris County Sheriffs Office received reports that a child was struck by a vehicle at The Commons At Hollyhock Apartments located at 5751 Greenhouse Road in Katy. The Cy-Fair Fire Department also responded to the scene. The child suffered a serious head injury and lacerations all over his body and was transported to a hospital by LifeFlight, officials said.
