DEER PARK, Texas – A SWAT team was deployed to an eviction scene in Deer Park after a person pulled his gun on deputies, officials said. At approximately 5 a.m. Friday, deputies with the Precinct 8 Constables Office were in the area of E P and Parkglen Streets in Deer Park, Texas to serve a court-ordered eviction. The deputies backed away from the home to a safe distance and Deer Park Police Department S.W.A.T. Authorities are now “working jointly to bring this to a safe conclusion for all involved,” said Lt. Chris Brown with the Deer Park Police Department. Deer Park Elementary nearby underwent lockdown procedures as a precaution.

DEER PARK, Texas – The Deer Park Police Department said they are angry after an officer found racist and offensive language spray-painted in a ditch Saturday. Officers said they were dispatched to the 1300 block of E. Pasadena Boulevard after receiving a report of vandalism. When officers arrived at the scene, one of them discovered the graffiti spray-painted on a concrete ditch line belonging to Harris County Flood Control. The graffiti had BLM in a circle with a strike-through line followed by, “WHITE MEN UNITE KEEP N------ OUT OF DEER PARK.”Officers said Deer Park Parks and Recreation department responded and painted over the offending graffiti. “The City of Deer Park and the Deer Park Police Department does not tolerate hate speech/action, racism or discrimination of any kind,” DPPD said in a Facebook post.

A man is accused of collecting money for his sick daughter but then never making good on those promises. Pasadena Police and Deer Park Police departments said the man, identified as Chad Skelton, 30, preyed on people's humanity and kindness. Police said he targeted small businesses in Deer Park, La Porte and Pasadena, and they found more than 20 alleged victims to his scheme. We found victims since 2016," Deer Park Police Lt. Chris Brown said. One victim, identified as Brooke, said Skelton told her that his child had Leukemia and needed life-saving surgery.
