A Texas man who worked for conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ website, Infowars, has been sentenced to four months of home detention for joining a mob’s attack on the U.S. Capitol.

FBI Houston announced that agents took a Galveston County man into custody Thursday for his alleged role in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riots.

A 32-year-old Houston man was arrested Friday for assaulting law enforcement in connection to the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to a release from the FBI.

The FBI’s Washington Field Office has released 11 new videos of suspects in violent assaults on federal officers during the riots at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 in an effort to get the public’s help to identify them.

An eighth person has been arrested by the Houston area FBI in connection with the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the agency announced Tuesday.

The FBI arrested a Katy man Tuesday morning in connection to the unlawful entry into the U.S. Capitol during the January 6 riot, authorities said.

HOUSTON – Two defendants charged with taking part in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 made court appearances at the Houston federal building on Thursday. One of the suspects is former Houston police officer Tam Pham while the other is Joshua Lollar, 39, who came to the federal building to post bond. Federal prosecutors accuse Lollar of clashing with capitol police two weeks ago as he made his way into the Capitol building during the riot. Federal agents said Lollar posted photos of himself inside the Capitol and even broadcast a Facebook Live post as he made his way in. On Thursday, Lollar arrived at the federal building, posted a deposit on a 50,000 bond and was fitted with an electronic monitor.

In a resignation letter Thursday, DeVos blamed President Donald Trump for inflaming tensions in the violent assault on the seat of the nation’s democracy. HOUSTON – The city of Houston is preparing for the mass distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine but says it need a bigger supply. While the Houston Health Department organizes logistics staffing and support, Mayor Sylvester Turner said the supply of the vaccine is the only thing the city cannot control. To date, Houston has received more than 8,100 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the mayor. Officials said all of the city’s COVID-19 vaccine appointments for this weekend have been filled. WASHINGTON – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says President Donald Trump should immediately be removed from office or Congress may proceed to impeach him. Pelosi on Thursday joined those calling on the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to force Trump from office. It came a day after a violent mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, forcing the building into lockdown. The 25th Amendment allows for the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet to declare the president unfit for office. The vice president then becomes acting president.
