Harris County is the latest county in Southeast Texas to issue a burn ban. Neighboring Fort Bend, Waller, Montgomery, and Liberty counties also have burn bans in effect.

As drought conditions creep back into southeast Texas, fire danger is also increasing, prompting multiple counties in the area to issue burn bans.

Harris County has implemented a burn ban due to dry weather and increased fire risk coinciding with Diwali fireworks season.

The burn ban for unincorporated Harris County was lifted on Tuesday, according to Harris County Commissioner Lesley Briones.
