CAMEROON โ€“ Britainโ€™s new U.N. ambassador says the government is feeling โ€œgung hoโ€ about continuing its role as an important player on the world stage despite its exit from the European Union. โ€œDonโ€™t underestimate the power of the relationship with the EU,โ€ she stressed in an interview with The Associated Press this past week. โ€œYet the country continues to carry weight.โ€Woodward, who came to the U.N. after more than five years as ambassador to China and previously served in Russia, agrees. โ€”Making climate change a top priority, focusing on preventing temperature rises, and raising the billions needed to make progress;โ€”Dealing with a range of global security problems. She cited the Iranian role in other conflicts including in Yemen and Syria.
