HOUSTON – A BMW driver who led Houston police officers on a chase early Sunday was arrested after crashing into a pole, firing at an officer and running from the crash scene on foot, authorities said. At some point during the chase, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole. When an officer approached the disabled vehicle, the driver fired multiple rounds in his direction. The driver got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. A short pursuit ensued before the officer took the suspect into custody.

Four Houston firefighters and a 15-year-old girl are recovering in the hospital after a crash in southeast Houston. Police said the crash happened on the Gulf Freeway near College Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night. Investigators said a fire truck was blocking part of the road because of another accident when a BMW slammed into it. The firefighters are expected to be okay, authorities said. Police said a 15-year-old girl in the passenger seat of the BMW was seriously hurt but she is expected to survive.

HOUSTON One person was killed Friday and two others were injured after a crash in west Harris County that split one of the vehicles in half. The crash was reported about 2:30 a.m. on State Highway 6 at Loch Katrine Lane. According to Harris County deputies, it appears a black BMW was speeding southbound on the highway when it was hit by a white Hummer. The driver and the front seat passenger of the BMW were taken to a hospital in serious condition, deputies said. The driver of the Hummer was not seriously injured and is being tested for intoxication, deputies said.
