Young TV viewers may be getting the message that fame is less important than values like achievement and a sense of community. In examining the TV shows most popular with children ages 8 to 12, knowns as tweens, researchers found that the emphasis on fame diminished in 2017. 1 on a list of 16 values measured in the top-rated tween shows in 2007, fell to sixth in 2017, with achievement and self-acceptance in the No. Researchers used Nielsen ratings to determine the leading tween shows, then surveyed study participants on TV characters' values. The previous study, released in 2011, was done on the brink of the reality TV boom and covered only scripted.

HOUSTON – Season 12 of NBC’s American Ninja Warrior kicked off in a big way with four incredible athletes from Houston, Texas. Jody Avila from Sugar Land, Daniel Gil from Houston, Mathis Owhadi from Tomball and Jonathan Horton from Cypress are all finalists and have put in a lot of time and energy to get to where they are in the competition. For Jody Avila, his entire family train to be ninja warriors. For Season 12 of NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior,” the top 50 athletes will bring along two people from their communities to compete with them for a total of 150 competitors. You might have heard that owning a business these days can be a real challenge, in this age of coronavirus. First they wanted to see Madaras' business partner, Sam Sann, who actually built the first ninja warrior gym in the country and is known by some as the sensei of the sport, Madaras said. An aspiring American Ninja Warrior from Houston, Texas, who won night four of mutton bustin’ at the 2020 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo said she’s “kind of a professional" already. Mutton bustin’ is a nightly Rodeo event that requires the children competing to ride across a pen on the back of sheep. Wiener credits her win to her breadth of experience mutton bustin’ in the past. “I’ve done it like three times now,” Wiener told the announcer. “One time, I did it when I was five and I did it yesterday for practice,” Winer said.
