Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who passed away at the age of 100, left a significant impact on Houston through his humanitarian work with Habitat for Humanity, notably the 1998 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, which saw the construction of 100 homes.

Houston Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Allison Hay is participating in a special multiple-home build in honor of former President Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday.

With countless hours of hard work, and help from our amazing build partners, a mother and daughter will finally be able to enjoy their beautiful new home.

HOUSTON – For the 8th year, KPRC 2 partners with the Houston Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for deserving families in the area. Allison Hay, Executive Director of Houston Habitat for Humanity, explained how their organization is helping local families build a better future by providing homes to those in need. The staff at KPRC 2, Houston Life and community members pitched in to build walls and other components of the homes needed to make this a possibility. Since 1987, individuals, businesses and groups in the Houston community have joined Houston Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place people call home. As with any proper build, the 4th annual KPRC Habitat Home kickoff began with a safety brief. Despite some wind and some rain, nail by nail, board by board, walls came together as daylight made its morning appearance. It began at a time when Houston Habitat for Humanity executive director Allison Hay said the need was growing.
