In an emotional press conference Friday, held with Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Al Rosen, 24-year-old Israel Rodriguez said the donated money would help him get his life back together. In between tears, Rodriguez said he was grateful for the money that was donated to help him and his family, including his two young children, ages 2 and 4. “Everybody that helped me out all over the world.”Rodriguez said he’s now staying at a hotel. The public response even touched Rosen, whose office handled the eviction. The constable said his office is also holding off on evictions for now following the recent CDC moratorium.

HOUSTON A man is accused of sexually assaulting a teen that he met through a social media app on June 2, according to investigators with the Human Trafficking Division of the Harris County Precinct One Constables Office. Juan Miguel Moncada, 25 was arrested and charged with two felony offenses: Sexual assault of a child and tampering with evidence on July 30. Women and girls are too often treated as criminals in cases like this, said Constable Alan Rosen. Precinct One has established a hotline where you can always report human trafficking. Anyone with information about human trafficking victims is asked to call 832-927-1650.

HOUSTON – An ex-Houston Chronicle sports reporter was arrested Thursday and faces new charges of attempted sexual assault of a child and online solicitation, according to the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office. Officials say subsequent investigations led to new charges being filed against him and his arrest Thursday near the 100 block of Chelsea Boulevard, in the city’s Museum District. “Investigators say Atkins began chatting with a 15 year old girl on Instagram last December,” officials wrote on Facebook. We believe the girl was with Atkins on at least three occasions.”Hunter Atkins, 31, faces charges including with attempted sexual assault of a child and online solicitation, according to the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office. Such predators will not be tolerated.”The Houston Chronicle reports Atkins was employed at the newspaper’s sports department until February.
