When it comes to prostate cancer, about six cases in 10 are diagnosed in men who are 65 or older. “Turns out, I have prostate cancer," Roker admitted. “Then in groups that are at a higher risk of prostate cancer groups, like we mentioned African American men, for patients who have a family history of prostate cancer... screening even earlier. NEW YORK – Weatherman and morning TV co-host Al Roker has revealed that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will be undergoing surgery to have his prostate removed. “It’s a good news-bad news kind of thing,” Roker said Friday on NBC's “Today.” “Good news is we caught it early. It began with a routine physical when his doctor discovered he had an elevated prostate-specific antigen in his bloodwork. Roker, a father of three, was by himself when he received the diagnosis. “I feel badly, because I didn’t tell Deborah to come with me,” he said.

The New York City nurses got married on Thursday morning, and while their friends and family weren't able to be there in person, they were watching the ceremony live on the Today show. Hoda Kotb officiated the nuptials for the couple, who were forced to cancel their May wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic. She recovered two weeks later, but told Today they didn't want to risk exposing their family members. "We didnt know if we were gonna be carriers and we definitely didnt want to spread that to our family. Silva proposed to Baral on vacation last year, so the Today show wanted to make sure their next trip was just as memorable.
