Led by Texans principal owner and CEL Cal McNair and foundation vice president Hannah McNair, LSSE wanted to expand within the Houston sports landscape and advance youth and female sports.
Founded in 2020, LOVB is the largest community in youth volleyball, and its professional volleyball league will embark on its second season this January. The pro league features teams in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Madison, Nebraska, and Salt Lake City.
Los Angeles is slated to join the league in 2027.
“We are always looking at creative ways to establish a better ecosystem around the Texans and LOVB is another example of that,” Cal McNair said. “This continues to grow our fanbase, makes sports more accessible and is an investment in the Houston community. It aligns with everything we are doing to provide a world-class experience for our fans and champion a competitive advantage for female athletes.”

Added Hannah McNair: “The more we learned about LOVB throughout this process, the more it felt like a natural fit for us to invest and be a part of what they’re building. It has always been a priority for us to elevate sports opportunities in Houston, especially for women and youth, and this falls right in line with that initiative. Similar to our investment in flag football, we believe this will make a major impact on the community and grow our fan base in H-Town, where volleyball is booming in popularity. LOVB has created a powerful pipeline from the grassroots to the pros, and as a result, the world’s top talent consistently wants to play here. We look forward to helping make LOVB Houston a must-see experience for fans across our city.”
There’s also a nationally ranked Houston Skyline junior club, with more than 1,300 athletes across the city. This integrated approach drives participation, develops elite talent, and builds lifelong fandom by linking local communities directly to the professional stage.
LOVB Houston’s season begins Jan. 8, 2026 at the Berry Center with 10 home matches. The team includes two-time Olympic medalist Jordan Thompson, two-time Olympic medalist Micha Hancock and NCAA champion Jess Mruzik. Tickets are on sale at www.lovbhtx.com.
“Cal and Hannah McNair deeply care about the Houston community, and their passion for growing Houston sports makes them an ideal partner,” LOVB Pro president Rosie Spaulding said. “Their proven track record of championing athletes from youth to pro and building community impact is exactly what will power this next stage of LOVB Houston’s success, so we’re thrilled to welcome them to LOVB.”
