HOUSTON – The Texans worked out two offensive tackles Monday.

They auditioned former Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere and former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle D’Ante Smith, per a league source.

Neither player is being immediately signed, per sources.

Petit-Frere is a 6-foot-5, 316-pound former third-round draft pick from Ohio State where he was an All-Big Ten Conference selection and a second-team All-American.

In the NFL, he has 28 starts in 34 career games. He served a six-game suspension from the league for a violation of its gambling policy. He was waived by the San Francisco 49ers in June.

Smith is a 6-foot-5, 309-pound former Bengals fourth-round draft pick from East Carolina. He tore his patellar tendon last year and missed the entire season.

He has played in three games for his career, but none since the 2022 season.
