HOUSTON – The Texans are signing veteran defensive tackle Marlon Davidson to the practice squad, according to a league source.

Davidson tried out Monday.

He got hurt in the preseason against the Minnesota Vikings before being placed on injured reserve and was later removed from injured reserve with an injury settlement.

The Texan also worked out former seventh-round draft pick Marcus Harris, defensive tackle Ben Stille and defensive end Joe Gaziano, per sources.

Davidson, 27, is a former Atlanta Falcons second-round draft pick who has also played for the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans.

Davidson (6-foot-3, 303 pounds has recorded 39 career tackles, two sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery. He’s a former All-Southeastern Conference selection at Auburn.
