The Texas Longhorns hype is real heading into the 2025-26 season.
On Monday, the College Football Preseason Coaches Poll ranked the Longhorns as the No. 1 team in the country. The reigning national champion Ohio State Buckeyes came in just behind Texas at No. 2.

Texas is coming off its most successful season in more than a decade, going 13-3 overall and making it to the semifinals of the newly expanded College Football Playoff.
The Longhorns also have returning talent to be excited about, including linebacker Anthony Hill, edge rusher Colin Simmons and new starting quarterback Arch Manning.
Three other teams from Texas also ranked in the top 25, with SMU coming in at No. 16, Texas A&M coming in at No. 21, and Texas Tech coming in at No. 24.
