Maxwell Award National Player of the Year Ava Wallace, NFL Flag Player of the year finalist Sonya Chalil and Emory Beckett attended the Texans’ training camp Friday morning along with their teammates and coaches.
The team met Texans players, including quarterback C.J. Stroud, and interacted with team vice president Hannah McNair, a major advocate for flag football to become an official sport at the high school level in Texas.
“I’m so glad that she gets excited,” Wallace said. “I mean, it’s huge to have a support system like that, because I mean it takes everybody to get this support. We’ve been trying for about like three or four years to get it UIL sanctioned, and we’ve had a very hard time. But, with her help, I think we’re going to be able to do it."

McNair has played the sport previously and her daughter has carried on the family tradition.
“Seeing her daughter interact with all of our players was so cool,” Beckett said. “It was so cute. I think we’ll definitely see her daughter in Texas.”
To meet the Texans was an emotional moment for the squad.
"It’s going to be an incredible experience,“ Wallace said. ”I’m so honored that the Texans are allowing us to do that, and I’m glad that we were able to support them at the NFL flag national championship."
“I’ve been a Texans fan my whole entire life,” Beckett said. “So, it’s so cool to just be here, watch their practice, watch their training.”
