A former New Orleans Saints undrafted free agent, Maulet, 31, was released by the Ravens in March after he ended last season on injured reserve.

Maulet worked out for the defending AFC South champions in the spring and was impressive. He has regained his mobility and health after dealing with injuries last season.

The Texans are waiving undrafted rookie corner Keydrain Calligan, per a league source.

Maulet signed a two-year contract extension with Baltimore last year after playing in 14 games with three starts as a nickel corner two seasons ago. He recorded 37 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception. He had a 65.8 passer efficiency mark against him and two sacks on 10 blitzes in 2023.

He was placed on injured reserve last season with a knee injury in training camp. After being activated in October, he was placed on injured reserve due to calf and knee injuries.

When healthy, Maulet provides sound coverage and is also a strong blitzer. This marks his first audition since recovering from his injuries last season that limited him to three games.

He has also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts.

Maulet has four career interceptions, five sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries with one touchdown, 17 tackles for losses, 225 tackles and 16 passes defensed.
