Hurts and the Eagles lost a heartbreaker two years ago but the second time back they took care of business.

It was a mission accomplished for the Eagles as they notched the second Super Bowl title in franchise history.

Hurts led the way with 2 passing touchdowns and another one on the ground en route to being named the Most Valuable Player on Sunday.

Hurts became the first Houston area player to ever win MVP honors in the Super Bowl.

His father Averion Hurts took in the game with family and friends at the Caesars Superdome and couldn’t be more proud of their son.

“I’ve cried only two or three times and this was emotional,” Coach Hurts told KPRC 2 Sports Director Randy McIlvoy on Monday afternoon during his drive down Interstate 10 returning from New Orleans.

Above, you can watch the full interview as Jalen’s dad reflects on what his son and the Eagles accomplished in the Super Bowl win over the Chiefs.
