Dollar General is offering its workers four hours’ worth of compensation if they get the coronavirus vaccine, the Wall Street Journal first reported.

The U.S. retailer is among the first in the country to offer an incentive to employees who get vaccinated.

According to the Journal, many hourly-wage workers are challenged by child care needs, transportation limitations, and scheduling constraints from holding multiple jobs, creating obstacle in finding time for a vaccine appointment.

“We felt the right thing to do was to break down these barriers to vaccination,” Dollar General’s chief executive Todd Vasos said.

According to the Journal, Dollar General workers will be asked to verify their vaccination in order to receive the four hours of compensation, but won’t be asked by the company to present a vaccination card or other proof.

Additionally, Dollar General will provide paid time off to employees who experience adverse reactions to the vaccine, the Journal reports.
