The Waller County Sheriff’s Office says Chief Deputy Bobby Schields was participating in a Charlie Kirk memorial ride when he was involved in a crash Sunday. The crash happened at the intersection of FM 2920 and Hegar Road.
The sheriff’s office said Schields never lost consciousness and early assessments show no brain or skull injuries, but he did suffer fractures to his ribs, shoulder blade, cheekbone, and an area near his temple.
According to the sheriff’s office, he is in good spirits and being well cared for.
“In true Bobby fashion, he is already keeping the ICU staff smiling and singing along to Tim McGraw. We are thankful his injuries were not more serious, and we appreciate every prayer and message of support. Your encouragement means more than you know,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office says they will provide updates on Schields’ condition.
