Three people, including two HPD officers, injured in crash in Southwest Houston

HOUSTON – Three people, including two Houston police officers, were injured in a crash in Southwest Houston.

Police said a man driving on South Gessner Road was making a left turn into an apartment complex near South Braeswood Boulevard at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday when their vehicle crashed into the police vehicle.

The police car then went through the apartment’s gate and hit an apartment unit.

The two police officers and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

“Our DWI DRE specialists are at the hospital with him, and we are unable to tell you right now if there’s impairment involved,” said Sgt. R.A. Dallas.

Sgt. Dallas said the police officer didn’t have their lights or sirens on at the time of the crash.

It was unclear who was at fault.
