FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Former Houston Rockets player, Patrick Beverley, was arrested in Fort Bend County on Friday, according to court records.
Beverley is charged with assault of a family member/impeding breath or circulation.
2 Investigates confirmed with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office that Beverley was released from jail on a $40,000 bond Friday afternoon.
Details on the alleged family violence incident are limited at this time, but we are told it happened at a home in the 5500 block of Lady Lyle Way in Missouri City around 3:50 a.m. Friday morning.
Houston attorney Letitia Quinones-Hollins of Quinones & Associates, who is representing Beverley, released the following statement:
“Patrick Beverley has no criminal record. He cares deeply about his little sister – a young lady, a minor. Given that, when he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister. However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described and we look forward to the opportunity to address that in court."
Beverley has played for multiple teams in the NBA, including the Houston Rockets, where he played from 2013-2017.
