A man accused of shooting his neighbor in the Leggett area leading to a search by law enforcement last week is now being held in the Polk County Jail with no bond, according to jail records.
Lee David Strole, 39, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Records show he’s also being held on an aggravated assault of a family member warrant out of Harris County.

Polk County sheriff’s deputies got called to a shooting on Wilson Road on Oct. 15 and found the victim with several gunshot wounds, according to court records.
The victim told investigators her neighbor, Strole, shot her in the arm and possibly the back because he was upset she kept feeding her own horse that was kept on his property with permission.
He “did not want the horse to get too fat,” records state.
Shooting Suspect in Custody Lee David Strole is in custody. The shooting incident is still being investigated at this time. There is no active threat to the public.

Deputies set up a perimeter and with a warrant searched Strole’s home, where records indicate they found evidence connected to the shooting.
Strole was found in a wooded area near the home and taken into custody.
The victim survived the shooting but KPRC 2 does not have an update on her condition.
