HOUSTON – Houston Police say a man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in February that killed a 21-year-old man.

Tristin Terrel Williams, 38, was charged with murder for the Feb. 16 shooting that led to the death of Julian Comeaux. A 24-year-old man was also hospitalized as a result of the shooting.

The incident happened at about 1:05 a.m. at 305 Hadley Street in Midtown.

According to police, Comeaux was out with a group of friends when they were told a person was breaking into the vehicle of one of the group members.

When Comeaux and his friends confronted the man, the suspect shot him and the 24-year-old before fleeing the scene.

Comeaux was pronounced dead at the scene.

Court records indicate the suspect left a Croc sandal at the scene, which was submitted for DNA evidence. Because Williams has a previous record, the records indicate police were able to positively confirm his DNA from the sandal.

Records also show Williams has been arrested five times before in Harris County for burglary of a motor vehicle.

KPRC 2’s Rilwan Balogun spoke to Comeaux’s family the day after the shooting. His mother, Larisha Sellers, said Julian her ‘miracle baby’ since she was told she couldn’t have children.

“I just want justice for my baby. I just don’t understand it. No mother should have to lose a child,” she told Balogun.

His cousin, Janesha Sellers, highlighted Julian’s character, saying, “Julian is the type of person that he can see you doing something wrong and he wants to talk to you instead. Like you, ‘hey, man, what’s going on with you? What you need, you know why? Why are you going to do this? You don’t have to do this.’”
