HITCHCOCK, Texas – The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said a 26-year-old man died and a woman was flown to a hospital after a boating accident in Hitchcock Friday.
Authorities say they were called around 4:30 a.m. Friday morning.

According to preliminary information, the man and woman were both ejected from the boat.
Authorities were able to find the woman and she was flown to UTMB Galveston by helicopter. She is currently in critical condition.
A dive team would later recover the 26-year-old man’s body from the water.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Texas Parks and Wildlife with the investigation. TPWD are the lead agency in this case.
