Authorities in far northwest Harris County are trying to piece together how a man, believed to be intoxicated, was stabbed to death early Tuesday morning at an apartment.

Details on how it all unfolded are limited due to how active the investigation is, but deputies with Harris Co. Sheriff’s Office said it all happened on Sunbury Lane near Easton Commons Drive and West Road.

Based on preliminary information, the unidentified man, who was “possibly intoxicated,” banged on the door and window of what deputies described as ”the wrong apartment."
About 15 minutes later, the man broke into the apartment through the window. Two related men inside the apartment were on the phone with 911 during the initial encounter.

At some point, the intoxicated man was stabbed to death, but detectives could not say how many times he was stabbed or what kind of knife was used.
It’s also believed he may have been involved in previous incidents at the complex, but that will be part of the ongoing investigation.
