A ground stop is “possible” at Hobby until 8 p.m.
It is unclear whether or not these anticipated delays are directly tied to the current government shutdown. KPRC 2 has reached out to the FAA and Houston Airport System for clarification.
An FAA spokesperson provided the following statement:
“As Secretary Duffy said, there have been increased staffing shortages across the system. When that happens, the FAA slows traffic into some airports to ensure safe operations.
