Houston police are searching for a suspect after a man was fatally shot overnight at an apartment complex on Plaza Verde Drive.
Houston police and fire crews responded to reports of gunfire around 12:30 a.m. at 201 Plaza Verde Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound near the leasing office.

Officers began life-saving measures, applying a chest seal before Houston Fire Department paramedics took over and transported him to a nearby trauma center. The man later died from his injuries.
Investigators said the shooting may have started elsewhere inside the complex before the victim was found near the leasing office. Police checked an apartment nearby to make sure no one else was hurt. A gun was recovered at the scene, though authorities have not said whether it belonged to the victim or the shooter. The suspect ran from the area and has not yet been found.
