HOUSTON – Police have charged a 21-year-old man with murder after a shooting at a home in southeast Houston.
It happened in the 8400 block of Bonner Drive.

According to Lt. Larry Crowson with the Houston Police Department, several men were under a carport at a home drinking beer.
Houston police later said 21-year-old Angel Ortiz picked up a rifle and pointed it at the 20-year-old victim. He then lowered the rifle, charged it, raised it again and fired, striking the victim.
Ortiz fled the scene on foot, but later returned and stated the shooting was an accident.
Ortiz was taken into custody and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of murder.
Ortiz has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
